Just like Mtn and Etisalat reduced down their Blackberry tariff plan few months ago, Airtel has also done the same yesterday. In my opinion, I will suggest you use the best network that is good in your location. If it is Mtn network that is okay in your location, use it. After all with Mtn Bis plan, you can download up to 4GB data if not more than at the same time browse with it on any device; and their BBC plan, you can download up to 1.5GB data if not more than. Customer care will not always tell you the truth so that you won’t finish your data cap.

How To Reset Your Blackberry Device Without Removing The Battery

Today I will be sharing an article on how to reset a blackberry device without removing the battery. I know most of you are already familiar with this trick but for the sake of who still have interest on it, I have decided to briefly share this tutorial.
When you install a new program or have a system failure, you must reboot the Blackberry. This is the same concept used in larger desktop or laptop computers.

Now in this tutorial I'm going to list out two ways of resetting your blackberry. The first technique used in resetting a blackberry is known as the Hard Reset while the other is known as the Soft Reset in most cases.
Note: Before you perform reset method listed below, ensure any open documents, emails or files are closed.

How To Performing The Hard Reset
To throw more light on this I want to let you know that if you are using a blackberry Smartphone that does not contain a Qwerty Keypad such as the BlackBerry® Torch™ 9850 Smartphone, you won't be able to use the soft reset you are only permitted to use the hard reset. The Hard Reset technique applies to all BlackBerry Smartphones.

To Perform The Hard Reset follow the Instructions Below
    • Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry Smartphone
    • Remove the battery and then reinsert it after a few seconds
    • Replace the battery cover.

How To Performing The Soft Reset 
The Soft Reset is very quick and its just a simple combination of 3-Keys. Whenever you want to do this type of reset you don't need to remove the battery. As mentioned previously, it is only available on BlackBerry Smartphone models with a QWERTY keyboard, such as the BlackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphone or BlackBerry Torch 9810 Smartphone.

To Perform The Soft Reset follow the Instructions Below
    • Press and hold the ALT key (1)
    • While holding down the ALT key, press and hold the Right Shift-cap key or Left Shift-cap key (2)
    • With both of those buttons still pressed, press the Backspace/Delete key (3)
    • When the screen turns off to indicate that the BlackBerry Smartphone is restarted, you can then release the keys you have been holding.

A few more things you should know about the reset process
    • Performing a reset does not remove any data
    • To fully remove data from a BlackBerry Smartphone, you will need to perform a security wipe. To learn more, check out this post on What is a Security Wipe and when should I use it?
    • Performing a reset does not remove an IT Policy if one exists. To learn how to do so, check out KB14202 – How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry Smartphone which can be found in the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center.

Makers of Blackberry [RIM] is really Stepping things up, Now Blackberry Users can now Make Calls for Free over their BBM with the New BlackBerry Messenger Version 7 + Get More New Smileys.
A new voice feature in the latest version allows you to make free phone calls to your BBM contacts over a local Wi-Fi connection. Beyond calling someone initially, you can start off the conversation by texting and then switch to a voice call if needed. You can also tell when your BBM contacts are available for a voice call.
RIM kicked off the new BBM voice calling through the app's beta last month and said the feature received a positive response from early testers.
Among the surveyed customers who tried the beta, 90% said they would use BBM Voice while traveling, according to RIM. Almost half of BBM's users have global contacts, so the new feature can save time and money for people who need to call internationally.

STEPS NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR BIS WORK ON YOUR COMPUTER
1. Install Blackberry Desktop Manager software to your computer.
2. Install Tether Application to your Blackberry phone ( What this App does is to powers your Blackberry for a stable internet connection with your Desktop Manager).
3. Connect your Blackberry Phone to your PC via the USB Cable, Now Open your Blackberry Desktop Manager, Click on “Internet Mobile” this is located at the bottom left. Now provide your normal service provider’s information e.g  your APN and the rest, Then Save it.
For MTN the APN, Password and Username are as follows
APN : web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
PASSWORD : web
USERNAME : web
4. Set your Browser e.g Mozilla, Opera, Chrome and Other Software to No Proxy.

Note: Make Sure you Configure the Tether Appication you Installed on your Phone with the Normal MTN Settings.
Now connect and browse till your subscription expires… That is it!

2 WAY TO MAKE 2GO WORK ON UR BLACKBERRY

2go does not work with BIS, You have to Subscribe to any Data Bundle or have credit on your Blackberry before 2GO can work for you. The problem is now solved by just follow the below simple steps to make 2go fully function on your BB!

• Goto Menu > Options > Advance Options > TCP/IP.
• Fill in the Info into your Settings as seen below!
• Tick "APN settings enabled" and input this in the APN: web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
• Tick "APN Authentication"
• Username for APN: web
• Password for APN: web
• Then press Menu key and Save.

Now relax and enjoy 2go on your BB!

IF THE 1ST SETTING IS NOT CLEAR TO YOU, TRY THIS 2ND SIMPLEX SETTING
All you need to do is
to visit wap.2go.im on your phone and download new 2go v3.04
After downloading open it, fill your username and password press Ok and feel it.

MAKE 2GO SHOW KEYPAD ON YOUR BLACKBERRY STORM 1 and 2 

Blackberry Storm 1 and 2 users are also shouting of 2go not showing Keypad to type text on their Phone.
Follow this step to make it show:

• Goto Menu > Options > Applications
• Locate 2go interaction > press Menu key
• Click on enable Compatibility Mode > Menu key, Then Save...

The Keyboard will now appear and you can start using 2GO on your BB Storm 1 and 2.
